The Businesses That I Use or Support
Earning my bachelor’s degree from Southern New Hampshire University was a truly positive and empowering experience. Throughout my program, the faculty consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to student success by being approachable, supportive, and willing to go above and beyond whenever help was needed. The professors were not only knowledgeable in their fields but also incredibly understanding of the challenges many students face while balancing school, work, and family responsibilities. Whenever I had questions or needed guidance, they were always available to provide encouragement, clarification, and constructive feedback. Their dedication created a learning environment where I felt supported and motivated to succeed, and it played a significant role in helping me achieve my academic goals.
In-Home Supportive Services is a California program helping low-income aged, blind, or disabled individuals (including children) live safely at home.
To qualify, individuals must generally be California residents, physically residing in the US, and either be Medi-Cal-eligible or meet Medi-Cal income requirements. They must live in their own home (not a hospital or long-term care facility) and require assistance due to age, blindness, or disability that makes it difficult to perform daily activities independently.
The California Department of Aging (CDA) administers programs and services for older adults (60+), adults with disabilities (18+), and caregivers to support independence and dignity. It contracts with local agencies to provide meals, legal assistance, housing, transportation, caregiver support, and care management to help residents remain in their communities
Amada is dedicated to improving the lives of seniors and their families by providing compassionate, high-quality in-home care services. The organization focuses on helping older adults maintain independence, dignity, and comfort while remaining in the familiar surroundings of their own homes. Caregivers assist with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal care, medication reminders, companionship, and transportation to appointments. In addition to direct care services, Amada Senior Care also helps families navigate long-term care options and understand available resources, including long-term care insurance and care planning. By prioritizing individualized care and strong communication with families, Amada Senior Care plays an important role in supporting seniors’ physical, emotional, and social well-being.
